Sounds of Science 2024
On Friday June 28th, 2024, the third edition of "Sounds of Science" took place at Stavovské Divadlo. Organized by the French Embassy in the Czech Republic and the French Institute in Prague, the evening offered us a stunning time mixing music and sciences.
Oustanding lectures were given to our audience by French scientists and Nobel Prize laureates brought together in Prague for the occasion. They presented the latest scientific concepts in their respective disciplines in a very interesting and accessible way for the general public.
- Jean-Marie Lehn (Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1987)
- Jules Hoffmann (Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2011)
- Alain Aspect (Nobel Prize in Physics 2022)
In between lectures, musical performances were orchestrated by Michal Rataj, Jan Trojan and Ivo Kahánek, mixing classical with more contemporary, electro-accoustic and experimental music, as well as an partly AI-generated composition, From the Future World.
The event was also the occasion to celebrate the anniversary of the Scientific Prizes of the French Embassy, launched at the initiative of Professor Jean-Marie Lehn in 1994, and which celebrated their 30 years of existence in 2024.
